My sister and her kids – actually, almost my entire family – live in Sydney. Near my parents’ flat is a playground with an enclosed play-area and some of the best views of Sydney Harbour.

While looking at Google Maps of the neighborhood, I noticed that the playground had disappeared. Further inspection showed that someone had done a pretty horrible image edit of the aerial view, attempting to remove the playground from the database.

Being an intuitive person, I checked the Street View, and the playground magically appeared!

Have other people noticed similar things?

I’d accept an explanation that it has something to do with pedophiles or the privacy of our children, but why do the job halfway and leave the playground there in Street View?

Just something I’m pondering.
